On the 21st of November, the designer Marina Raphael, celebrated the opening of her international brand’s very first Pop Up store. The young Greek-Austrian designer, offered the exclusive opportunity to experience the idea of a true concept store, which also embodied the festive spirit of the upcoming holidays, all in the heart of Athens, Kifisia, in 1 Panagitsas street.

Following Marina’s haute-couture aesthetic, the store, was adorned inside -as well as- outside with over 1 million Swarovski crystals, which elegantly reflected the brand’s unique artistry and philosophy. Magical looking hedge-men, were also there to greet the crowd and entertain everyone, as they set an amusing and light-hearted tone to the opening. Other than the latest FW19 Nostalgia collection, the brand presented 5 additional bags in the pop up store, which are part of its Holiday Collection, a collaborative collection with Greek Haute Couture Designer, Christos Costarellos, which is comprised of 5 bags and 5 outfits, all in rich black hues. In addition, the boutique offers customers the exclusive opportunity to personalize their Marina Raphael bags, by adding their initials in the form of glimmering Swarovksi crystals.

Following her iconic transformation of the Goulandris Natural History museum, Marina Raphael, enchanted us with a glamorous presentation of her SS19 collection, at the Enny Monaco Boutique located in the heart of Mykonos. On the 19th and 20th of July the pictorial Greek stone-paved street, was converted into a maze of golden straws , which accentuated the collection’s summery sensation. Swarovski embellishments were not left unnoticed, as they illuminated amongst the crowd of A-listers who attended. Bloggers Sofya Benzakour, Kate Tik and many Greek celebrities came to show their support.

On the 19th of July, the elegant cocktail party marked the opening of her 2-day Pop Up store. The high-spirited and buzzing atmosphere of the night blended with the opulent surroundings, that couldn’t be complete without the brand’s life-size Riviera mascot and “Fashion Police” in their Swarovski- covered crystalized uniforms. Guests enjoyed the vibrant energy of the night while drinking Moët champagne from custom Marina Raphael Moët bottles.

The Pop-Up store, also offered guests an exclusive opportunity to view and purchase designs from her new “Nostalgia” Fall Winter 2019 collection, which is deeply influenced by her Austrian heritage (Swarovski) and exudes a nature-inspired, wintery finesse and sophistication. The Goulandris Natural History Museum was transformed into a golden field of straws where Marina’s designs revealed a summery sensation. Natural materials such as leather and straw embellished with Swarovski crystals composed a collection of elegant handcrafted bags of the highest quality. The historical museum ignited the designer’s passion for nature, and became her greatest source of inspiration behind this collection.

The summer-themed launch party was attended by old and new friends who travelled from all over the world to see her dynamic creations. The A-list style set included international names like Anna Vitiello, the former editor of Harper’s Bazaar and co-founder of AndFinally blog, the British singer Pixie Lott, Victoria Secret’s models, Gizele Oliveira and Nadine Leopold, the fashion blogger Doina Ciobanu and Diana Langes-Swarovski, Paulina Swarovski and Alexandra Swarovski from the Swarovski family.

Last season’s Crystal Robot, also made an appearance, alongside our brand-new life-size Riviera mascot and the brand’s “Fashion Police” who entertained the guests with their crystalized uniform and “arrested” whoever wasn’t wearing a Marina Raphael bag.

On Saturday the 10th of November Marina Raphael held a cocktail party at i-D Concept Stores in Kolonaki to celebrate the opening her Pop-up store. The designer presented her FW18 creations named “The City Collection” in the heart of Athens, where guests were able to enjoy a Bellini and shop pieces from the collection. The custom-made Marina Raphael Swarovski robot invited customers into the store with its impressive stance in the central shop window. Attendees had the chance to also witness the craftsmanship behind each bag with a video demonstrating the hours of work artisans spend on each product.

The Marina Raphael X i-D Concept Stores will be available until the 26th of November 2018.

On September 19th, Marina Raphael presented her debut collection of designer handbags, titled “The City Collection” at the “THE TWENTYONE” bar-restaurant in Athens.

The young designer showcased timeless pieces of unique craftsmanship that were inspired by the ‘metropolitan woman’, who moves through the modern world with a sense of purpose and poise.

The City Collection features over 30,000 hand-placed Swarovski crystals and over 90,000 velvet studs that result in 22hours of work required for each bag.

While celebrating the launch of the designer’s own entrepreneurial venture, she also paid tribute to her Swarovski heritage. Over 100,000 crystals decorated the walls, 6.000 crystal pins were placed in the flower arrangements and crystal candle holders in every corner, lit up the venue. The highlight of the event was a handmade, Marina Raphael robot, featuring 80,000 Swarovski Crystals.
